below average?

I just got my User Interface midterm back, and I’m neither happy nor surprised with the results. I did not finish the exam; and I don’t mean in a I didn’t get to dot my ‘i’s and cross my ‘t’s kinda way, but in a I didn’t get to fill in about 25% of the questions kinda way. I know my stuff, but I didn’t have time to prove it. So pissed off. 😡

  1. That’s a very quick response.
I only got 2 out 10 right in the matching section, which was supposed to be easy, damn.

  2. Well, I’m sure you did better than I did. I’ve talked to lots of different people, and most either did not have time to finish or did not have time to put down answers they’d be satisfied with. And when I talked to one of the TA’s, he said that one person put down 6 words for some answers and got full marks. (!!) He said that, of course, after I asked if note-form answers would be acceptable.

  3. Oh boy, I would rant on this whole thing myself! I hate it when markers look for those key words – and ONLY those key words. You can write an essay and never mention something like “usability” and lose half a mark.

I can feel your pain. Some tests are never intended to be completely finished. But especially for a course you like… Ouch.
