I had a good Christmas. 🙂 Hung out with family (and a couple students), ate copious amounts of turkey and sweets, and drank a pleasant variety of cocktails. I got a few interesting gifts, including: a larger tripod (used when taking the photo of the tree, above), Holey Soles (wearing and loving them now), and… Continue reading Happy Holidays 2007
Brad Sucks
But actually, he really, really doesn’t. I’ve been using the alarm clock plugin for Rhythmbox to wake up, recently. But I had it set to play on my “Added Today” automatic playlist…. Can you guess the problem with that? … By the time I was supposed to get up, my playlist was empty! Doh! >.<
Something Terrible
If you heard someone crying in Deep Cove last night, it was probably me as I formatted my Gamecube memory card. I had got one of those official Nintendo 64MB (the biggest official size) memory cards with the idea that I would never need to get another. When Eric, our current Korean student, was playing… Continue reading Something Terrible
Rhythmbox Jump-to-playing Plugin
This plugin will display the View : Jump to Playing Song link as a button in the toolbar and as link in the Browser’s context menu. This is about as simple as a plugin could be (which is partly why I wrote it), but I’ve actually found it quite useful. Maybe you will too. Download… Continue reading Rhythmbox Jump-to-playing Plugin
There’s an arsonist in my library and it’s me
While tinkering with RB svn (11.3), I thought it not necessary to make a backup of my music library. I can see you already shaking your head. Anyway, filed a bug yesterday, and it’s already been resolved. As for my music library, I happened to have an automatically created backup from when I opened the… Continue reading There’s an arsonist in my library and it’s me
Snow!
This year is supposedly going to be the coldest we’ve had in 15 years! I guess that’s good news for the mountains! Yesterday we had a bit of snow. I took my sister’s dog for a walk while trying to take evening pictures. Today, I woke up bright and early at 7am, and we had… Continue reading Snow!
Phone Spam
Within the last 20 minutes, I have received two different phone calls with recordings saying I’ve won an all-inclusive vacation, and I just had to push a number on the keypad to accept it. Is it just a matter of time before an automatic filter can be applied to incoming calls? People shouldn’t be able… Continue reading Phone Spam
A Bug’s Life
A while ago (a year?!), I made this cute little bug graphic for Nemiver, a C/C++ debugger for GNOME. Nemiver has since changed icons. More recently, Shirley pointed out to me that my bug had been used on a Mac site! 😮 (Of all things!) Heh. I only posted the graphic on the Nemiver mailing… Continue reading A Bug’s Life
Check Mii Out
That’s the name of the new channel available on Wii. I gotta say, it’s much better than the other channels we’ve been getting. After you download the channel (from the Shop channel), go in and look at all the “Popular” Mii’s. It’s pretty amazing what some people can do with the limited Mii palette. Moles… Continue reading Check Mii Out
New Theme Update
I’ve removed a lot of the noise from the theme. This includes all of the gradients and many of those nasty, sharp lines. Put Categories and Time at the top of each post, with Tags and Comments at the bottom. Made both smaller. Put everything on search results page. Added links to Technorati and del.icio.us… Continue reading New Theme Update
