So I downloaded the Ubuntu live-cd, and am currently testing it out. (CD-RWs are great for things like this!) Everyone uses their computer for something different. I use mine for quite a large range of things, so certain features are important when I’m looking at a desktop/distro. Here’s the skinny on what I’ve been messing… Continue reading Ubuntu Live – My Experience

Guh-Nome!
2.10 – joy! My heart almost stopped, today, when $600+ (my Zaurus) jumped out of my jacket pocket and skidded across Burrard and Nelson. After taking my time (the light was green and cars were patiently waiting for me) to ensure I had picked up everything, I nodded “thanks” to the drivers and headed over… Continue reading Guh-Nome!
VNC Server on Zaurus SL-C760
Finally got around to setting up a VNC server on my PDA. It freaked me out a little when the first app I tried prevented stylus input. DELETE! So, that was because I was using an old version of fbvncserver made for the zaurus 5500. I have the zaurus SL-C760 (still using default SHARP ROM),… Continue reading VNC Server on Zaurus SL-C760
There’s still no “unsend”
Came home from school to a find a rather amusing MSN message waiting for me: (13:48:33) my_roommate: y’at school? (13:49:03) my_roommate: nveermind, your laptop is here… DUH I’d like to point out that it took a good minute and a half half a minute (ahem) for him to turn his head and realize my laptop… Continue reading There’s still no “unsend”
Tired. ~_~
I hereby declare VBScript as evil. It took me forever to debug a beyond simple few lines of code in an ASP file because of a typo. With any reasonable language, the compiler/interpreter would have complained about me using an undeclared variable, and I would have corrected the typo, right away. Anyways, I discovered you… Continue reading Tired. ~_~
In the library…
As fate would have it, the first math quiz/test that I’ve actually been prepared for in maybe 2 or 3 years was cancelled due to a fire alarm, and no time left in the class. I suppose it doesn’t really matter that much, as the studying I did will pay off eventually, anyways. The (e-)commerce… Continue reading In the library…
some desktop luv’n
I’ve been screwing around with my desktop over the last day. Tried out a bunch of gDesklets and slapped on a new background. I should have taken a screen of the before, but at least I have one of the after. Let’s see, there’s the OSX-like launcher on the right, the column of various things… Continue reading some desktop luv’n
new zaurus, firefox extensions, life
The new clamshell zaurus, the SL-C3000, is scheduled to come out in Japan on November 10th. It now includes a 4GB microdrive in addition to the 128MB RAM and the arrow keys have been replaced by a joystick! Still no embedded wi-fi, though. Still… me wants it, me does. I wonder what kind of updates… Continue reading new zaurus, firefox extensions, life
printing in linux
Not that anyone cares, but I finally got printing working in linux! w00p! I had some serious trouble with this, trust me. I’ll post some of the details in hopes it will help others. My setup is a laptop running Gentoo linux. I am connected to a router which provides the life-flow known as the… Continue reading printing in linux
css update
I updated the CSS file, today. Got tired of recompiling the kernel, linuxwacom or xfree86 in an attempt to get my tablet to work. Why am I having so much trouble with this? Oi. Anyways, I like the updates I’ve made to the style sheet. yep. And now, for more testing purposes, a nested list:… Continue reading css update
